We completely sold out of Motaria games over 6 months ago! We now have 4,000 Motaria games being printed, manufactured, and assembled.
What took so long?! We made our first 3 printings of Motaria in partnership with a company in Tijuana, Mexico. This was important for us to have the games made in Mexico, to keep our costs down, and to be equal in quality to the Loteria games we all grew up playing. This cost quite a bit of money to get the game just right, along with some expensive machining costs for our custom game. Our manufacturing partner was purchased by a larger printing company. In the process, the teams of people that made our games were “laid off” and our artwork and custom die cutting tools were also “lost” in the company takeover. We spent a few months attempting to get a new quote with the new printing company, and after many back and forth conversations we decided to take a look at other options both in Mexico and the United States. This search took some time and finally we found a company that could meet our quality and cost requirements to make our next printing of Motaria games.
Hecho en Los Estados Unidos, or in English, made in the United States. After a thorough search, we partnered with a legit game manufacturing company here in the USA. They have over 20 years of experience in making custom games. They made some great suggestions in the quoting process to make our next printing of games even better than our previous printings. The main upgrade will be a new two-piece box that is thicker and more durable than our previous tuck boxes. While submitting some minor changes to the artwork, we were able to make the box art sharper and more clear as well. We are excited to receive these new improved games, and are excited to collaborate with our new manufacturing partners on some new Motaia branded games in the future.
